Betroz
Hi Just got my drive today. Tried to install Ubuntu 10.10 on it, but during install the installer crashed with an error saying it couldn't write to the disk. Tried several times, but same error. Are there compability issues with this SSD and Linux? The second problem I have is with HDDErase. I have of course set my BIOS to IDE Compability mode, but HDDErase comes with this message : "This drive is in frozen status". The only way that worked for me was to power down my PC and unplug the SATA powercable, start the computer into DOS, plug the kable in again and then rerun HDDErase. Now it works. Why does this happen? Do I really have to open my case everytime I need to run HDDErase...?! I read about a program called Parted Magic. Is that better? No frozen drive there I hope... Win7 installs just fine, but not Ubuntu.....strange! Something wrong with my SSD or not?
