panman
Hello This is my new build and i need some advice. My Case COOLER MASTER RC-692-KKN3 CM690 II Basic Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case Motherboard - GA-890GPA-UD3H (amd 3) Prosessor - AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Processor PowerSupply - 650 watt I hear that the stock heatsink and fan really suck. So iam thinking about using the Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H50 High Performance CPU Cooler . I have no experience in cooling and how case air flow works. Will this case work ok with this cooling unit and do i have two do anything special. With this motherboard from gigabyte do i have two remove the amd 3 factory heatsink mounting bracket etc, Iam asking how differcult would this two install on this h50 on this motherboard. Or should i just use the stock heatsink and fan. Thanks
Yellowbeard
I have no experience with that case so you'll need to check with the manufacturer or perhaps another user that has used that case to verify the fit. However, our H series coolers fit a variety of case styles and sizes so you should be fine. Also, the coolers are a breeze to install. I put an H50 on an 890FX UD7 last night in about 5 minutes flat. We have some HOW TO guides that will help also.

ifed32
Panman CM 690 is a good case. The H50 Mounts in the Back exhaust fan Area. The OEM fan is a good Fan. The OEM backing plate is ok,do not like there twin sided tape, hard to remove when switching Mainboards! I have 3 H50 cooled AMD setups!

kkolbo
thanks yellowbeard where would i get the extra fan if i wanted two use 2 fans.should they be the same fans. The clicking sound that i been reading about on the h50 and h70 bothers me abit. If u care two comment on this it would be apprec. thanks Unless you are overclocking, the single fan on the H50 should be fine. I overclock a Core i7 930 with just the single fan. If you do use two fans, yes they should be the same. There is a project build article on the main Corsair site about the push pull set up. The click that you are reading about happens in one in a very large number of units. Corsair is excellent about taking care of you with an RMA if your unit appears to be defective. You will find very few companies who want you to have a perfectly happy experience with their product the way Corsair does. Your mileage may very, but they have been great with me and I appreciate the way they do that. That has been with memory, PS, Case and Coolers. SHAMELESS PLUG The Corsair support engineer helped me track down a motherboard defect in someone else's MB because they manufacturer support engineers were clueless. Corsair wanted me to have a happy system, so they went the extra mile. On this forum, the folks, Corsair reps and users, have taught me a ton when I have been clueless.
