Tequila_Burp
Last week i went to usa and bought a CMP6GX3M3A1600C8 + P6T + i7 950 from the same store. The tech guy told that the 3 were compatible. Now that i went back to my house =D couldnt find any source confirming that these corsair + p6t + i7 950 will run stable. As soon as i buy the rest of the computer i will do a memory test. However, I will like to hear any advise before i run into any trouble. Should i try to get a compatible ram for my mobo? try to get a compatible mobo for the ram xD, or stay with both and make a test. btw am a novice building pc. i only have experience with my old PC. trackrat
The CMP6GX3M3A1600C8 is approved for the i7 series CPUs so it should work if your Asus mobo is built properly. http://www.corsair.com/products/corei7/default.aspx http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145295 Current Corsair memory Finder Listing for Asus PT-6 mobo: http://www.corsair.com/configurator/product_results.aspx?id=831942#other_modules The Intel i7-9xx series CPUs only officially support RAM frequencies up to 1066 MHz. so you'll need to manually set BIOS options for greater RAM speed operation. http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=37150
Tequila_Burp
Hi am writing from my new PC =) I choose X.M.P profile. It says profile #1. However i saw DRAM Bus Voltage at 1.66 by default. Isn't that dangerous =(?
trackrat
XMP profiles typically up the RAM voltage so that it can run at a higher frequency. There is no problem running the RAM you have at that voltage. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145295
