terrible h50 temps?

so i built myself a new rig recently, the h50 i got seemed to work ok when i got it. however now, it seems to perform terrible especially with overclocking. Im at stock i7 950 ghz which is 3.06 and i idle around 36c, load temps around 65c? and when i used the dummy oc, which i probably shouldnt, which only boosts it to 3.2 ghz, my hottest load temp was 82C!!! after 5 minutes of linx!! so what is the cause of this. ive gone over the checklist when it came to mounting it correctly, what should i do. :sigh!:

Well you should stop for a minute and think about it! what is the temp surrounding your computer? that's called the ambient temperature, you'll never get below that unles you use some form of refrigeration.

How is your case for airflow? you need to move cool air in and hot air out, hot ait rises so a top exhaust fan makes good sense, cool air is lower so a fan or two low down in the case makes good sense.

If your bringing in air from outside over the radiator into the case you might want to consider turning the air flow around so it exhausts out.

How hot is your mobo? how much heat are your graphic cards HDDs' generating, using a DOC might mean the voltage has been ramped up, try lowering the CPU voltage, until it breaks then up until stable.

Finally read the sticky at the top of the forum

What kind of temps were you getting when it was working "ok"? Have you changed or rearranged any hardware or power settings since then? Was the weather/air conditioning/ambients cooler then? Are you using push/pull(most people's great temperature reports with the H series are taken from push/pull configs). How are the fan(s) connected - Mobo headers or Molex adapters(should have it this way IMHO).

Can always try reapplying the TIM but you'll need to get something decent as the stock TIM on these is already "premium."

Even using the same application method/TIM I can get 4-5c variance in temps when I remount.
