Win7 bench

Hi, I refreshed my Win7 experience Index and when it finished I have a score of 5.6, wich previously was 7.3 WITH THE SAME p128 SSD, I have a powerfull system with SLI video all my hardware scores 7.8 but the p128 SSD seems to be the problem, so the bench is rated at the lowest score...5.6 because of the SSD, is this normal?

Can you show us the full readout of the hard drive section only.

You can run ATTO to make sure your P drive is running at advertised speed, WEI can sometimes be rather off..

However if you have filled the drive significantly since the last time you ran the test, or if you don't have TRIM/garbage working (I don't know if P series has these features), then performance degradation would be quite normal.

personally i think your write speeds are all over the place, it may be well worth imaging the drive and using secure erase in parted magic and re image the drive back.

i base my opinion on this after seeing hundreds of ATTO screenshots here that are much more consistent really. my question is the same as Ram Guy's, what else was running?

Hi, sorry for the late reply guy's, there is always something running in the background, especially Bitdefender AV and firewall. The drive is 85% full. Are you telling me I should backup my drive and do that re-imaging thing and then restore the backup? Another thing I was wondering how much the cluster size should be for this drive, I think I have let windows 7 manage this when I first formatted the drive, I believe it is set 4kb not sure tough...

Hi guys. New to this forum. I'm in need of some advice on getting the best WEI scoring....

I just completed a new build using an MSI 890FXA-GD70 mobo, AMD 6-core 1075T CPU, XFX 5830 Radeon graphics card, 8GB G Skill DDR3 memory, H70 CPU cooler, and several HDs - 3 of which are WD 10k Raptors. I'm still in the process of tweaking and doing some OC'ing since the msi board makes it so easy, but just trying to establish a Windows baseline right now.

When I run the WEI I'm getting 7.4 - 7.6 on all parameters except on my boot drive. Now I know the HD is the slowest device in a computer, but using my 74GB SATA (1.5 GBps I believe?) Raptor, I'm only getting a rating of 5.9. I also have this Raptor plugged into the 6GB SATA port on the mobo, but not sure if that's making a difference since it is only a 1.5GBps SATA drive.

I have 2 150GB Raptors that I want to configure as RAID 0 (since this is only a 'play' machine), and use as my boot/system drive, but not quite there yet. I figured that configuration would yield a better WEI score than 5.9.

Except for moving to an SSD are there any tweaks I can make to my system that would affect the HD performance and possibly improve the 5.9 score?

Any and all thoughts are appreciated.
