iCY Se7en
Hi ive recently bought some TWIN2X4096-8500C5D two lots to be precise one set is ver1.1 and the other ver2.1, my problem is my motherboard an Asus P5Q Deluxe says it can take upto 16gb but when I put the 8gb in the board my pc won boot at all, I get no signal on my screen. CPU-Z is reading one of the ver2.1 sticks as 6400C5 when it has a sticker of 8500C5D on the back and was wondering if this could be the problem? Ive tried different timings, northbridge voltages etc but have had no luck unless there is certain timings, voltages etc for my board that I dont know of? trackrat
Mixing of RAM is never guaranteed to work even if the RAM is identical modules. With different versions it is rare that it will function at all.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 21, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 21, 2010 Let's get them replaced, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace them. Be sure to check the box that says “I've already spoken to Technical Support and/or RAM Guy.” However the replacements may not run 4-up at 1066MHz.
