GNU
Hello, I did ask the ASUS community for some compatible memories from Corsair. They only could give me a non guaranteed list. So my question: Which memories are compatible with the new ASUS Crosshair IV Extreme? I don't mean the slot compatibility, I mean the compatibility with this board only. I want to overclock my system with this board and with Corsair memories, so I need a guarantee about the compatibility. Thanks in advanche
trackrat
The Corsair Memory Finder on the top right side of the Corsair Home Page lists the following compatible memory for the Asus Crosshair IV mobo. http://www.corsair.com/configurator/product_results.aspx?id=1575023#other_modules If your Asus mobo is properly built to AMD specs, any of the Corsair tested and approved Phenom II memory should work fine. http://www.corsair.com/products/phenomii/default.aspx
GNU
I know the Memory Finder but I need "guaranteed" memories for the Asus Crosshair IV Extreme. Asus did say, that Corsair doesn't have any guaranteed memories for this motherboard. The second link is very useful. Many thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 21, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 21, 2010 Any of the modules listed for the Formula board should work or any at the link below. http://www.corsair.com/products/phenomii/default.aspx
GNU
Should? I hope, that you are right. I will buy some of them. Thanks
trackrat
Corsair RAM is 100% tested and confirmed for compatibility. That's about all anyone can do. If you have a finicky mobo that's not quite to specs or a memory controller that doesn't play nice, you can experience issues with one RAM and not another. About all that you can do is pick tested, compatible memory and try it. There are no guarantees in life except death and taxes. ;):
GNU
Okay, then I don't need to be nervous about this. ;) What'S about this Corsair RAM? The Dominator Rams are the best for overclocking but they aren't in the link. http://geizhals.at/a580810.html
trackrat
There are quite a few Corsair modules not listed in the "current" RAM list as it is always changing based on production. The CMP4GX3M2B1600C8 Dominator RAM has worked well for me and other folks. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145303&nm_mc=OTC-pr1c3grabb3r&cm_mmc=OTC-pr1c3grabb3r-_-Memory+(Desktop+Memory)-_-Corsair+(XMS+Series)-_-20145303
GNU
Thank you but this Corsair RAM has only 2x2 GB. I need 2x4 at least (for video enconding). I could use the 2x4 GB like this Corsair XMS3 Dominator DIMM Kit 8GB PC3-12800U CL9-9-9-24 (DDR3-1600) (CMP8GX3M2A1600C8) or this Corsair XMS3 Dominator GT DIMM Kit 8GB PC3-14900U CL9-10-9-27 (DDR3-1866) (CMT8GX3M2A2000C9) I hope, they will be in the Ram list or I must buy those Rams. Corsair XMS3 DIMM Kit 8GB PC3-16000U CL9-10-9-27 (DDR3-2000) (CMX8GX3M2A2000C9) I saw some users from xs.org, which use some Corsair RAM but they didn't say the code. trackrat
The CMT8GX3M2A2000C9 should work for you as it appears to be AMD Phenom II approved. I can't find any info. on the first part number to determine if it is approved compatible for the AMD Phenom II CPUs?
GNU
It'S nearly the same. I believe, it's compatible. :) I hope, I will have a strong CPU for this. ;)
trackrat
Unfortunately "close" as in "nearly the same" does not work when it comes to PC memory. That is why it's important to chose RAM that has been tested and approved for a specific CPU. Good luck!
GNU
Yes, I know but I need it. I hope that my Asus will run with those CMT8GX3M2A2000C9 Rams. Thanks for the wishes. ;)
