saifz
Ok well when my cpu (amd athlon x4 640 3.6ghz) i hear this noise and i am very sure its from the cpu its like a high pitched noise and only happens when my psu is in like 97-100% usage. Im really concerned as to what it is. My CPu never really reaches even when im doing heavy stuff on it but when im benchmarking my cpu the noise emits. I dont think its my gpu gtx 460 either
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 18, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 18, 2010 Try some of the suggestions here to see if you can narrow down the problem a bit, and if nothing helps, then please Request an RMA.
saifz
well i think its coil whine and apprently it is not dangerous. Do i have to go through all the trouble of getting my unit replaced or can i live with it? If i do go for an RMA i wont ahve a psu for about 2 weeks and who knows that this issue will be fixed. I have been seeing a lot of people on the forums and google searches with this issue. I am a 15year old who spend his own money on buying something. Its really hard ffor me to shell out $25 just for shipping and having to end up waiting 2 weeks without a fixed problem.I alrdy requested and confirmed RMA but im not sure what to do

You have to live with that. I perceived I had a faulty PSU and was recommended to RMA it. But I am not going to do it, because I could buy the same PSU for the price of shipping from Australia to the US. RMA is a bit of gimmick for us living on the island. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 20, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 20, 2010 The buzzing would not indicate any increased risk of failure or damage to any components, but if the noise is loud enough to be bothersome then we can try replacing it for you.
