va1erian
Hi there, I would like to find out the manufacturing date of the VX550 I recently bought. There are no date markings either on the PSU or the box or the manual. The packaging box has a date "2007" but it could be the year of the design release and not necessarily the manufacturing year. I would like to know the manufacturing date, so that I would assess how old the plastic and other components are and thus how they are prone to the break down. Thanks. Yellowbeard
Look for a sticker on the PSU, stuck onto the specification label. It has the serial number and a second number. The second number will begin with 06****, 07*****, 08*****,09*****, or 10***** denoting the year. The second pair of numbers will denote the week in which it was built. Example 1010**** would mean it was built in 2010, week 10.
