New install H70... 0 RPM pump

Hey guys,

I've just installed the H70 cooler and my CPU temperatures quickly climbed to 80c in less than a minute. My CPU is at stock speed and voltage.

I have the radiator fans plugged into the CPU fan header, and the pump plugged into one of the other fan headers on the motherboard. I looked in BIOS the pump remains at 0 RPM, whereas the radiator fans are working fine.

I thought maybe I had a faulty fan header, so I switched the plugs around. Alas, still 0 RPM for the pump.

I've ensured that the CPU is in good contact with the block, and everything is screwed down nice and tight.

Do you guys have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

This is my first Corsair product too :(:

It's possible the pump is DOA. A few things to check before requesting an RMA, though.

Make sure that when it is plugged in, all three connectors in the plug are making contact. The easiest way to do this is get an adapter from 4 pin molex to fan plug. Plug the pump cable into this, and try it.

Check the cable for any splits, as well. While you'll still want to RMA it, at least it'll cut down on turnaround time :)

I fixed it and I'm not sure how I did it. I just unscrewed the retention ring and screwed it back in then tapped on the block a couple times, and when I booted it back up the pump registered in BIOS... it doesn't make sense but I'll take what I can get =D

And thanks for the help

I'll try that too. Same problem, 0 rpm no matter what header I use.

Still hanging on these forums? Has it run after all right? I mean, do I need to keep checking BIOS every now and then to see if it's still OK, IF I make it work.
