oliveryochest
Memory prices fluctuate all the time. The warranty covers you for similar functionality, not price fluctuations. Obsolete or Discontinued Products Whenever possible, an obsolete or discontinued product will be replaced with the same product. If Corsair is unable to replace your obsolete or discontinued product with the same product, Corsair will replace that product with a new product of similar function and equal or greater value. This is nothing against you. I don't see how this is fair. It may have similar function, but i do not believe it is equal or greater in value. Wired
Value doesn't necessarily equal cost. If IC prices drop by 50% which in turn drops the memory cost significantly and you RMA an item, it doesn't mean they owe you the equivalent cost item, just the same item. Either way, no one on the forum has any control over that part of the RMA process. You'd need to respond back to the customer service rep who emailed you. Inform them that you feel you're not getting the same value and they'll go over your options. You may want to suggest what you feel IS the same value and go from there. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 22, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 22, 2010 FYI I am sorry but there is nothing we can do about the cost difference we can only replace them for a another part. But if you have questions or concerns please take them up with customer service, Tech support can do little to help with this type of question.
