guma822
Hey guys, Im currently building a new computer and I bought 6 gigs of dominator ram (CMP6GX3M3A1600C8) but I found a little bit of a problem. When I was opening the package for one of the sticks I notices a bit of liquid leaking out of the crack between the heatsink and the ram. I have no idea what this is or why theres liquid there in the first place. Is this just the material that they used for bonding the heatsink to the ram or is this a major cause for concern. I tried wiping the liquid with a paper towel but it only spread and left a mark on the ram that almost looks like ink. However there was no visible liquid on the paper towel. Is this stick still usable or should I request a new stick? Please advise Thank You

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 7, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 7, 2010 I have seen this on a few sticks. It is from the thermal tape that is applied between the module and the fin. You can use some rubbing alcohol and it should clean up.
