Complaint about 21 day policy

Hi I just wanted to complain about your 21 day rebate policy. I understand its a policy but when I bought the corsair products the rebate was mentioned to me as a benfit but no one ever mentioned the 21 day policy.

Only after printing off the rebate forms did I notice this. Unfortuanly for me I had problems with my setup so I decided to hold off on submiting any rebates just in case I had to return stuff and now it's past that 21 day period. I am not expecting to be able to submit a rebate at any given time but 21 days just seems like a silly amount of days. I was expecting to be at least be given a month.

I doubt there is anything that can be done now but I hope you will reconcider this policy. It's too bad because I have always for the last few years bought corsair products for my builds but this seems a bit too under-handed to me and may reconcider with my next purchases.

usually 3 weeks is more than enough time to put a UPC in the mail, sorry you had problems with your setup but you could have still sent in the rebate right away, any retailer would/should understand if you did counting on the parts working as they should have.

it seems it was just bad luck, not bad policy. worst case scenario you could have forwarded the check/card to the retailer or he could have taken the rebate amount off your refund.

please dont get upset with my .02 im just an outsider looking in.

the 21 day policy has been 21 days for as long as i can remember and is on the rebate form.

again im sorry to hear of your disappointment.

Well 3 weeks may be more enough time but as I said I had problems with my setup and my experiance has been retailers want you to return the product with packaging intact...and these rebates require you cutting out the UPC so thats a no go. Also as I stated in my last post...I didnt print off the form untill after my system was setup and functional. As it was not stated on my receipt I had no way to know it was a 21 day policy.

As for it being bad luck and not policy, yes it was bad luck but I am still opinion it is a bad policy. And that is not because I got affected by it, its just obvious its there so that the rebate wouldnt need to be paid out. 30 days seems like a more logical amount of time that people would assume right off the get go.

I dont know what retailer you shop at that would allow you to return cut up packaging and refund a mail in rebate but sounds like a great retailer.

And no worries not upset with your opinion, I am just giving you mine as well :)

I am sorry you dont agree with my *opinion* but that doesn't make it hog wash. If someone is going to not be given the details of the rebate they are going to assume 30 days at least. That's been my experiance with rebates, any less than that is just a attempt to give less time.

I am sorry but thats just my opinion. You dont have to agree with it.

The terms of the rebate are clearly stated on the rebate form as you have noted. I am sorry you missed out but I am at a loss as to any better way to give you rebate information than on the rebate form. There is no under handed or deceptional intent here.

I sorta agree with the OP. I don't hold anything against Corsair but in my situation the 21 days was too tight. I just chalk it up to being unlucky and bad timing :(.

I ordered my parts online, so by the time I received it, 7 days has already elapsed. Took me about a week to get everything up and running (had to RMA a faulty H50 cpu cooler). Then I waited 3 days to let the new setup to settle down. I put the rebate submission in the mail on the 18th day which happend to be a friday evening, and my submission was somehow postmarked 22 days after and got denied :(

I have to empathize with the original poster as well. I just got burned by the 21 day rebate policy this morning.

I placed an order for a Corsair PSU from Newegg and I had assumed (yes, I know the connotation) that 30 days would be the cut off date to postmark the rebate.

This order, among other items, was purchased as a gift on "Encore Tuesday." I was out of town on business when I placed the order and had everything shipped to my house. I just got back in last night. When I woke up this morning to check out all of the numerous rebate forms I needed to complete, I was dismayed to read that I had missed the deadline for the Corsair PSU.

Is there any way I can have an exception made? You need the UPC from the product so there was no way I could complete the form while I was away. I could easily have everything completed today if given the form.

Let me be clear: I've never had an issue with Corsair rebates in the past and I've done several of them because I'm a big fan of your products. This simply threw me for a loop due to poor circrumstances. This would be a great gesture of goodwill on Corsair's part in my view (and to others who may be reading this).

EDIT: I know this question is coming so let me pre-empt it: "If you've done them in the past, why didn't know it was 21 days?" Truth be told, I haven't done a Corsair rebate in over 2 years, but I have done several of them. Whenever I order something with a rebate, the first thing I do when my product arrives is to round up relevant invoices and fill out rebates ASAP. I don't bother looking at the deadlines because I know they expire in a relatively short period. I complete them immediately so it won't be an issue.
