trackrat
The CMP12GX3M3A1600C9 is compatible with the i7-950 so you should be fine. You may only be able to run at Intel's guaranteed 1066 MHz. RAM spec for this CPU, however. FWIW, Newegg shows more of this RAM expected on 10/12/10 so it looks to just be out of stock.
mikbolo
but ive read that i7 cpu only want ram with 1.5 voltage, and this model run at 1,65 v ,are u sure that this isnt a problem?
trackrat
The 1600 MHz. speed rating on the RAM is at 1.65V. This means the RAM is guaranteed to run at 1600 MHz. with 9-9-9 timings at 1.65V. The industry standard default DDR3 voltage is 1.5V. Intel does not officially recommend running higher DDR3 memory voltages. The point is the 1600 MHz. RAM speed is based on using the proper 1.65V RAM voltage. This memory should run at the official Intel 1066 MHz. @ 1.5V but it will not likely run at 1600 MHz. @ 1.5V.
