RacingSOUL
Hello. My config - Asus Rampage III Gene, i7 930, TR3X6G1600C7 (3x2gb). Cpu is 4 ghz (190x21, turboboost disabled). When memory timings are set to 7-7-7-20 (1,643 voltage) PC won't cold boot - coolers are working, leds blinking but no beeps, nor post screen (monitor stays in standby). MB shows DRAM problem (red led). After I press reset button PC boots fine. This happens every time I start PC after ~10 hours rest. If I turn it off after successful load, wait few minutes and turn it on - everything is fine. Memtest is ok. MB bios - 0602 When timings are set to 8-8-8-24 this problem dissappears. Please help me :(:
trackrat
Your i7-930 is rated to run RAM at 800/1066 MHz. Your CPU/Mobo/PSU may simply not be capable of cold booting the memory at 1600 MHz. at 7-7-7-20 timings. The fact that your PC boots without issues at 1600 MHz. with 8-8-8-24 timings suggest that the memory is not the problem. You may need to up the RAM voltage to 1.65V as this is the speed rated voltage for this RAM. You could have a CMD timing issue? Have you tried using 2T? You could also have a PSU cold boot power surge issue, other memory timing issues or any number of other possibilities as you are overclocking the CPU data bus once you go above 1066 MHz. http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=41447
Wired
Reset the BIOS (reset your OC in otherwords), enable XMP. If it's all running fine, then it's not the memory.
