ssajan7
hi everyone! i built my system in the end of april and everything has been working fine till the beginning of summer, which is a couple of months ago. My problem now is that sometimes my pc suddenly turns off and if i try to turn it on back again it will automatically turn off after about 10/20 seconds. The only way to get my system back working is to leave the psu off and unplugged for a few hours. This thing is now happening much more often than the first 3 times. I could say it happens every 1 or 2 days. It seems to happen in no particular situations. I already tried changing PSU right when this happens, and the system will work the right way. This is why i think it's a PSU issue. can anybody help me please?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 30, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 30, 2010 You may want to try this test to see if you can get the PSU to duplicate the same behavior with out being connected to any devices. If the PSU keeps shutting itself off then please Request an RMA. If you can not duplicate the same issues with the paperclip test then there may be some other component which is causing the PSU to shut down. If this is the case then I would suggest reinstalling the PSU with a bare bones configuration. Basically disconnect everything from the system except the CPU, motherboard, graphics card and a single memory module. This should help rule out any of the other devices which are disconnected. ssajan7
Ok, i tried the paperclip test when the system gets locked and it fails. It should definitely be a psu problem then. I think i will request an rma. I'm italian, is there a special procedure i should follow? Also, is it possible to get advamced rma? I really need my pc working for studying
