gnayres
Just went to the retailer with the 2 sets of 4G kits. They were kind enough to replace them. now both sets are of the same batch number. 1 of the set went through MEMTEST 4.1 straight from cold boot with no error. Will test the other set at next cold boot. And next, will do a cold boot to windows to see if there is any BSOD.

gnayres
Updates: No BSOD to Windows after 8 hrs cold boot with 1 kit set. Next, 2 kit sets. PS: lordkermit, you are right about it, and now I am happy with first set successful result. we'll see how the second set do. Thanks dude!

gnayres
Alright guys, it has been BSOD free for past few cold boot to the OS. It running pretty smooth now, thanks to those who had helped! Especially to lordkermit, you pointed out the possibility of a faulty module. Thanks mate! If "PC Overclocking is like the lottery", I might have strike it! And its double the joy as I have 2 kits (not ONE kit but TWO) working smoothly now... hahahaha... gnayres
In the closure to this 8 weeks of agony with the RAM issue, I think testing of each module is really important when setting up a new rig. I am happy with the final result after all this saga. The system is stable now with following settings: i7-870 @ (stock 22x133) 3.2~3.6GHz with turbo - Intel Speedstep Enabled - Intel Turbo Boost Enabled CMX4GX3M2A1600C7 Kit x 2 (8G) - DRAM Timing: Auto @ 7-8-7-20 T2 - DRAM Voltage: AUTO @ 1.66~1.67v - XMP Profile Goodbye to BSOD.. :) I also did some OC-ing for the fun to test it out. I raised the Vcore and BCLK. It was stable but I am worried about the temp as it gets pretty high... well I decide not to fry the processor till I get my H50/H70 liquid cooler.. 1. Voltage: 1.25, BCLK: 171 @ approx 3.76GHz Temp:65-70 2. Voltage: 1.35, BCLK: 183 @ approx 4.0GHz, Temp: 72~ very high... Though I'm using the Archilles HSF, Temp still pick up fast... Some points to share: RAM report is lesser than actual installed? 1. Check for bent pin/s and re-seat the Processor 2. Make sure after-market HSF is not over-tighten, may result cross-pin/cross-signal BSOD at every cold boot? 1. Run each module with MEMTEST from cold boot to filter out the culprit. RMA the faulty kit. 2. If all modules pass memory test. Do the VTT/Vcore and Dram Voltage/Timing tweaking, maybe IMC needs some 'pushing' Most important, share your encounter, experience and constructive advise here. This may help others solve their problem too. Cheers! :D:
