ghoughto
My PC has been misbehaving so I ran memtest v4.10. The memory passed the test but the big surprise was the spd information. I bought a triple kit of Corsair 3 x 2GB CMX6GX3M3C1600C7. Memtest shows Slot 0 ... Corsair CMX6GX3M3C1600C *XMP* Slot 1 ... Corsair CM3X2G1333C9 Slot 2 ... Corsair CMX6GX3M3C1600C *XMP* I switched two of the memory sticks and got the following Slot 0 ... Corsair CMX6GX3M3C1600C *XMP* Slot 1 ... Corsair CMX6GX3M3C1600C *XMP* Slot 2 ... Corsair CM3X2G1333C9 The memory sticks look identical but with the heat spreaders on it is impossible to read numbers off the chips themselves. Is this likely to be causing me problems now or in the future?
Wired
The SPD is incorrect, that's all. You can certainly RMA the kit on that alone. Do you have XMP enabled?
ghoughto
The PC is not stable with XMP enabled. This also makes me suspicous that something is wrong.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 28, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 28, 2010 We can replace them however it is possible you are running into a limitation of the memory controller on the processor.
