I should have read around before I bought some of this stuff.

 

I am doing the exact same thing, I got the P6X58D-E board, I got it over the premium because there was no Sata III Raid 0 support for the premium but the E board had it. In the end I didn't even get a sata III HDD but I'll prob get on in the future.

 

I've been reading alot about ram, and I was having alot of trouble figuring out which one to get but I ended up getting the 7D because of the lower timing. I hear it'll be faster then the higher timed ram but I really don't know from experience. I haven't set it all up yet parts are still in the mail.

 

if you have any advice on this build let me know.

 

I have the P6X58D-E, TR3X6G1600C7D 6GB 7-7-7-20 and a Core i7 930.

 

If anyone can explain how the 7-7-7-20 and the 8-8-8-24 are so different that would be great.
