ericvq
Have an A50 installed on my MSI AM3 board and it can only go in the vertical position. Have the fan pointed to blow up towards the PS that does have the internal fan blowing out. Also have fan at the back of the case blowing out. Never had a vertical HSF mount and figured I would ask a newb question about whether or not it is best to keep the fan blowing up or position it in the down position. Has done great with temps on my 1055t oc'd so far to 3.4 (20-22c idle and up to 53c on load with prime95 after 24 hrs.- using hwmonitor for temp readings). Do have some concern about the extra heat on the PS but am uneducated enough to know the reality. Thanks for any input.
babbar
i was going to buy the a70 but because of the vertical mounting i decided not to, thanks for posting this. as for the extra heat going to your psu don't worry about it, top mounted psu take in hot air all the time from your case and you shouldn't have a problem. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 23, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 23, 2010 I would not suspect that the heat from the heatsink would dramatically effect the temperature of and reliability of the PSU. Some lower quality PSUs that are tested at 25C would certainly be effected more than one that's tested at 50C.
