gekko668
Since a vast majority of laptops in the market is using sata 1.5 - wouldn't it be a waste of money if you're buying a performance SSD since sata 1.5 max it out at 150MB/s?
Engmod
I would have to agree. Cheers Derek
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 24, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 24, 2010 Not really since most spinning NB 2.5 HDD's have poor performance compared to an SSD even the faster WDC Blue NB drives will run at about half of the speed of the maximum S-ATA1 Buss at most. Not to mention the access time which is less the 5Ms on SSD's compared to 20+ MS or standard 2.5" NB HDD's. I would suggest using our Performance series SSD on these systems to get the most out of the system.
Yellowbeard
In my personal experience, an SSD on an older laptop is like adding a turbo charger. Old laptop HDs are a HUGE bottleneck to performance and SSDs improve this noticeably. I'd suggest one of our Performance Series SSDs as RAM GUY noted.
