13thirty7 Posted September 21, 2010 Share Posted September 21, 2010 Okay, i have an ASUS Rampage III extreme motherboard, great board, and i have an i7-930 OC'd to 4.0 Ghz, i just ordered 6GB (3x2) DDR3 2000Mhz Corsair dominator GTs 8-9-8-24, but i was just wondering the performance of the dominator GTs on my particular motherboard? Before i ordered the RAM on newegg i noticed one review of a guy stating that, "Manual or XMP settings, this memory will not allow an Asus Rampage 3 Extreme X58 motherboard to post when running the memory at 2000mhz. Also randomly if running the memory over 1333mhz, bios and windows will only show 4gb instead of 6gb. Checked all dimms if they are working, and they are." His statement made me weary at first ordering the dominators GTs, but everyone i know who are computer building enthusiasts tell me not to worry and be so paranoid over one measly bad review. I wish to overclock my RAM and get it as close to 2000 Mhz as possible. One of my friends, who knows alot more about memory than i do, said that the guy that posted the negative review about the dominator GTs probably had no idea what he was doing and messed something up somehow. So i ask, with my ASUS Rampage III Extreme motherboard, will 6GB DDR3 Dominator GTs run fine? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
