First post, sorry for it to be a question rather than help but here goes. I have Corsair CMD4GX3M2A1600C9 2x2gig in my Gigabyte 870A-UD3 Mobo and it just continuously beeps in the same pattern. 3 long beeps, stop, 3 long beeps, stop, 3 long beeps...you get the idea. This is the first time I am staarting it up, the whole build is brand new, hard drives are not the issue, no dvd-rom device at all. I do not think its anything with the setup, at one point I was able to get post and begin loading the OS, however, upon installing XP, it got hung at 39 minutes left. Needless to say I let that sit there for 39 minutes, it didn't change. I unplugged it, guess what, 3 long beeps, pause, 3 long beeps, pause, so guess what, I did more reading and more troubleshooting, I've read that 3 long beeps is either a keyboard error or a memory error. I've used only one stick, although my dominator ram dual channel states that I must have 2 sticks loaded for it to work in channels 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 which I have tried every config. with no change. I also read someone saying that a bent pin caused this issue on the CPU so I removed the heatsink and the f'ing CPU came out with it so I have to get thermal grease, split the cpu from the cooling fan and then redo it. That is where i stand now. I have a 750w Corsair PS... .I really don't know what else it could be and I'm getting hella fustrated. Any ideas/solutions would be greatly appreciated.

This is most likely RAM. You need to clear your CMOS, there will be instructions on how to do it in your motherboard manual, or just google it. Make sure you set it all to default settings in BIOS afterwards. Then try to boot again with just 1 stick of ram in your first dimm slot. If all is ok, try to boot again with both running in dual channel. Oh and you might want to also update your BIOS to the latest version, this usually solves some memory related problems.

Hope this helps.

How do you mean? Has the heatsink baked onto the cpu? Must have been running really hot. You should just be able to pull it off with your fingers, and then clean both surfaces with a cloth. I know intel cpus have a metal cap covering the chip so it's hard to damage even with a screwdriver. AMD should be the same.

Have you checked, if all your fans are spinning? If not there might be a problem with your power suppley or u didnt put in all the requested cables into your motherboard....have you put in the 8pin cpu power cord?

You could refer to ur mobo-instructions and see what is says about the beebs...it usually tells u what they mean.

And another queation....have u got a bootscreen?
