TheFlow
Hello, I'm about to build a new rig based on i7-950 on a Asus Rampage III Extreme. I would like to use Corsair RAM since I have had good experience with it in the past, but I'm having a hard time with differences in RAM models offered. I tried to figure out the differences between the following RAM that all have CL 7-7-7-20 @ 1600MHz: TR3X6G1600C7 TR3X6G1600C7D CMT6GX3M3A1600C7 Apparently the second one has a different heat spreader ("Dominator") and the third has the dominator spreader and a fan (or supports the addition of a fan?) and supports the addition of "Airflow Pro". Can anyone please confirm these "findings" and possibly clarify these differences? And much more importantly, do these modules have the exact same RAM chips etc, with just the cooling part making a difference? Thanks in advance for the answers! Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 21, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 21, 2010 The first kit is the regular heat spreader the second is the dominator. The third is the Dominator GT with fan and support for the Airflow Pro accessory.
Wired
The IC (ram chip) varies between versions (NOT part number), and all 9 versions can be made at any time.
