Viggo
Hello, I'm in the process of buying 12GB RAM for my Asus Rampage III MB. There are countless of posts out there with people having issues running 6 x 2GB memory modules and before I go ahead and spend my hard earned $ I have a few questions. 1. Have Corsair tried/used the following kits on the Asus Rampage III with success? HX3X12G1600C9 or CMD12GX3M6A1600C8 2. Non of the above memory kits are listed on the QVL list for the MB, why is that? 3. Are my chances of getting 12GB running, better with the CMD12GX3M6A1600C8 kit according to your tests? 4. Would the extra money for the CMD12GX3M6A1600C8 kit give me any advantage if I'm not planning of OC my system to the max? Thank you for taking the time to read my post. I look forward reading the replies. Thanks in advance, Viggo
Viggo
Hi, Does anyone know if CMP12GX3M3A1600C9 will work with Asus Rampage III? Since it is a 3x4GB kit it shouldn't strain the memory controller in the CPU as much as 6x2GB kits. Corsair, why isn't CMP12GX3M3A1600C9 available as a memory kit for the Asus Rampage III MB? Have you had problems with this setup? Thanks in advance, Viggo
Wired
They're all compatible. If you're referring to the memory finder, it's not listed under ANY motherboard. There's no issue, the website's just out of date. Also, Asus' QVL is often out of date. They don't update it each time new memory comes out. Keep in mind since the memory controller's in the CPU, there's less to worry about on the motherboard end.
