26kick
Hi, may I ask for some general setup information? Up until a couple of weeks ago, I’ve been using the memory listed in my system specs. I started getting blue screens so I replaced my ssd, to no avail. Then I replaced the memory with two modules of this: http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j280/26kick/IMG_2714.jpg I remember reading somewhere that with my system, 4GB of memory will show up at 3.25GB. That is the case, I understand that, no problem. No more BSOD, which is awesome, however I HAVE had a few interrupted posts, where it hangs just before the memory check, but upon resetting the machine it starts fine. It did this before I changed the memory as well. What I would like is a recommendation on how to set up this memory properly, with the proper voltage etc., so that the memory is “happy” and will last. Should I raise the voltage? It currently is at between 1.87 and 1.89 volts, as shown in the picture below. I have made no Bios adjustments as of yet. Incidentally, I never adjusted the voltage or BIOS memory settings on the old memory either. Here is how it is reading at the moment (using the Asus pc probe software): http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j280/26kick/IMG_2712.jpg Please let me know if any other information would be helpful. Thank you in advance!
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 17, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 17, 2010 The voltage is 1.8v and the timings are 5-5-5-18-2T at 800MHz. Thats all you should need for the settings.
26kick
Hi Ramguy, thanks for the response. Are these pics proof enough that I have the right settings in bios already? http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j280/26kick/IMG_2719.jpg http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j280/26kick/IMG_2720.jpg Does everything look normal here? It says memory is at 1.8v but Asus PC probe is reading between 1.87 and 1.89. Is this cool? Thank you
Wired
Screenshots look fine. FYI you can use the print screen button and paste into MSPAINT instead of taking actual photos of the screen. ALT+Print Screen will take a screenshot of JUST the open window.
