gagnou
I have 4 new 1GB memory sticks 2 are 1GB,800,128X64,240,EPP 2 others are CM2X1024-8500C5D My computer is a DELL E521 generic build with a 8800 GT 512MB GeForce videocard If I add only the 2 CM2X1024-8500C5D computer boots fine.If I add the 4 sticks, computer beeps. I know on the corsair site, the only compatible memory they are saying is the VS1GB533D2. Is there a way for me to still make the 4G memory work? Do I have to modify something in the BIOS at the startup? Is there an order I need to do when placing memory sticks? (What i did was CM2X1024-8500C5D for slot 1 and 2 and 3-4 with the 1GB,800,128X64,240,EPP. Please help.
Wired
Short answer: No. Long answer: there's multiple reasons why it's not recommended to put enthusiast memory in OEM systems. Return the XMS memory and get what's compatible.
