EarBud
Hello, I'd really like to buy a Corsair HX-Series power supply for a build, but it has to fit into an Antec Sonata case (the original model). Because this mid-tower case uses a top-mounted supply, I'm concerned as to whether 1) one of these supplies will even fit, and 2) would it be too heavy for this top-mount design? I'm also concerned about the fan position (the original supply had the fan on the rear panel, next to the power switch). Would the Corsair supply still work okay in this type of installation? Thanks. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 14, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 14, 2010 The HX series should work great in the Sonata case, and can be mounted with the fan face up or down. I could not tell you the exact fitment of the PSU in the Sonata because I do not know their dimensions, but you can find the dimensions for all of our PSUs on our website (http://www.corsair.com/products/power_supplies.aspx)
EarBud
RAM GUY, Thanks - Corsair just made a sale. Not to get off-topic, but since you already know my situation let me go ahead and ask... Because I'm working with a small case, do you think an H50 would be the best cooling solution here? It appears to take up less space than an air-cooled radiator. Thanks.
