Installed Force 120, but benchmarks seem quite low

Recommended Posts

I have a brand new 15" MacBook Pro i7 2.66 ghz

I just installed a new Corsair 120gb Force Series SSD.

I booted off the OS X disk and used disk utility to restore my stock drive to the SSD. There is about 85 gb free.

After a fresh restart I ran xbench (is there a better app on OS X?) and got these scores (see below).

According to the published specs on new egg and reviews I've read, the peak should be somewhere near 285 MB/s read, 275 MB/s write, but I'm not even breaking 200 on any of them. Am I doing something wrong, should I start over and install Snow Leopard fresh? Comments, suggestions?

It feels fast, but I want to make sure I'm getting what I paid for right out of the gate at least.

Thanks so much!
