Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD6 and TR3X6G1600C7?

Recommended Posts

Corsair's compatibility list for this motherboard doesn't list the TR3X6G1600C7 kit, but it does list 4GB kits comprised of 1600 7-7-7-20 1.65v pieces. Am I correct in thinking that this board will indeed work with two TR3X6G1600C7 kits?

I realize this is a three-channel kit, but this board has 6 slots, which is one of the main features I like about it.

I just want to make sure I'm not missing something, and end up with a mess of RAM I can't use.

Thanx for your attention to this, and any help you provide.

Never recommended to mix kits.

Also, from the manual:

When enabling Dual Channel mode, it is recommended that memory of the same capacity, brand, speed for optimum performance. When enabling Dual Channel mode with two memory modules, be sure to install them in the DDR3_1 and DDR3_4 sockets. When enabling Dual Channel mode with six memory modules, make sure that memory modules to be installed on the DDR3_3, DDR3_2, DDR3_6, DDR3_5 sockets are all single-sided.

Get ONE 4 stick kit from here:

In otherwords, only use 4 sticks, too much hassle and grief to use all 6 slots.
