Hello everyone,

I just wanted to let you know I saw an old dusty Corsair TWIN2X4096-8500C2DF package hanging on the store shelf all by its lonesome self, So I bought it even though it was overpriced and I have never used the fans.

Anyway; I've been running 4GB dominator ddr2 @ 1066 for a little over a year, Only in the past few months did I find the magic settings to make stable this memory 100%.

So, I decided to begin to migrate to Windows 7 64-Bit; I thought rather then spending 1500$ on a rediculous new setup, I would just up my ram to 8GB.

I am running ASUS Maximus II 2202 BIOS, with a Intel Xeon 3350 Processor running at 3.2GHZ (400MHZ Bus, 3/4 Memory FSB:DRAM Ratio) And that right there I believe is key to this setup. I will post the intricate details as soon as I can extract them from my BIOS because I spent several hours scouring every part of the net to find a success story of this type; I thought it would be worthwhile to say.

P45 - 4 Sticks - 1066 - Stable

____

Not to mention,

2 of the sticks are Rev 1.1 TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF

the other 2 sticks are Rev 1.2 TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF G

Perhaps that is the trick?

Shrugs. :)

No reason to go for that screaming EVGA Dual i930 (8-Core) with 12GB ram, and the *Sigh* fanless case to go with it.... Wait for the refreshes (Stability) and the code and programming to catch up to where we are going. 32-Bit is so yesterday.

4GB to 8GB and I'm already at 75% Physical memory usage, and I absolutely love being able to allocate a full 4GB to my 32BIT DAW (Nuendo 4.3) Apps! DDR2 Lives!

i'll be very interested in your settings you used to get your 4 dimms working 100% stable. i have a similar setup though my hardware is a little older than yours but having trouble getting my 4 corsair dimms working stable.

http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=86963

you can see my system specs from the drop-down menu. but the short version is;

-asus maximus formula (intel x38)

-intel q6600 G0 stepping

-CM2X2048-8500C5D ver1.1 (4GB)

-CM2X1028-8500C5D ver1.2 (2GB)

-win7 utimate x64

i can get my 4GB CM2X2048-8500C5D dimms stable @1066.

and i can get all 4 dimms (6GB) stable @800 but not at @1066.

anyway i'll be looking forward to the BIOS settings you put up in your next post.

cheers.
