Hi I have 4 1GB CM21024-6400C4 sticks in my Asus P5B-E motherboard. Intel Core 2 quad 2.66 GHZ

I've run memtest86+ twice and got 2 consecutive errors.

The first was : Test 6, Pass 0, Failing address 0013e525538 - 5093.1Mb, Good 00010000, Bad 00000000, Err-bits 00010000, Count 1

The second : TEst 8, Pass 0, Failing address 0013e525538 - 5093.1MB, Good 27F5a974, Bad 27f4a974, Err-bits 00010000, Count 1

What confused me was that memtest86+ reports the problem at 5093.1MB when I only have 4 GB installed and also that it reports my ram timings at 5-5-5-18 when CPU-Z picks them up at 4-4-4-12.

Can anyone explain for me?

Thanks

Matthew

Errors in the higher number tests would suggest an issue with the memory controller. You could try loosening the timings slightly to see if it help however I doubt it will. You may need to try better cooling on the NB or give it more voltage.

Many thanks for your reply.

I have it running at 2.1v at the moment...is it possible / safe to take it higher?

I also wondered if it's worth updating the bios?

I noticed asus have a beta 1807 and I'm still on 1101.

Kind regards

Matthew
