Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted March 8, 2010 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 8, 2010 Why are you restoring a previous image? Did you Wipe the drive like with Parted Magic? And just do a quick format with 4096 for the allocation should be all you need to do.
oldbrave
I was just checking out some benchmark software, AS SSD, and it says that my partition is out of alignment. I was just wondering just how much of a hassle it was going to be to re-align it, and could it be done without a fresh install of the OS.
birdie
AS SSD says 104422k BAD on my x64, and 31k BAD on both my intel ssd. I did a quick format as you said, still BAD. they seem to preform like they should so no need to do anything?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted March 9, 2010 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 9, 2010 Please provide a like to the application you are using and did you set the format application to 4096 or 32K?
oldbrave
Here's a link to the AS SSD benchmarking software that I was mentioning. http://www.alex-is.de/PHP/fusion/news.php
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted March 10, 2010 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 10, 2010 I am sorry It is not in English and we would not be able to use it. If you speak German I would suggest posting on the German section of our forum.
oldbrave
Here's the file. http://www.mediafire.com/file/kw2mayiikzm/AS SSD Benchmark.zip I think what it's doing is counting the the small reserve partition that Win 7 makes as a offset so it thinks that the main partition is out of alignment. The amount that is says the partition is out of alignment is the same as that reserve partition.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted March 11, 2010 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 11, 2010 The application seems OK but it takes a long time to run and I have no information as to its compatibility. However knowing where it came from I would expect it to be good software just no conformation as its not been evaluated at this time. I would suggest talking to the Software vendor for more help with their software. Did you try the steps I suggested to alighn the partition? I just tested and ran the software and it took about an hour but it shows OK. I think Cryctal Disk Info is much faster and reliable and its in English.
