ewarwoowar
got a second x series 32gb today for RAID0 and was wondering is there any way to change unit allocation to 64k on a format instead of useing disk management in a windows OS? Like in command prompt on the windows 7 disk?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 16, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 16, 2010 NO you would need to image the current drive to another HDD then wipe the current drive with Parted Magic and then when you create the Raid set the Raid cluster size to 128K and when you format the drive use the Quick option and set it to 32k for the format. ewarwoowar
Why 32kb? The raid performance table thingy says 64 seems better. But they both come out pretty even.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 16, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 16, 2010 You are welcome to do what ever you like but from the testing I have done personally 32K for the format with 128K for the Raid has been the best over all. However I agree with 32K and 64K in the chart we did a while back were close.
