dantem
I just bought 2 P256 drives, I had the VBM18c1q Firmware so I updated them. The first one updated fine. The second got a message saying something like "error updating firmware" but before I could read the message it completed and then marked the drive as having the new firmware. I then installed Windows 7 and it did not turn off defrag or superfetch automatically, however it did turn on the trimming feature. I ran a disk check with Crystal and it showed 175 read and 37 write on the C drive. My second drive keeps getting read errors and finally got a 25 read speed. I checked the drive with checkdisk and it says there are no errors. How can I retry the firmware update.
Wired
Does Crystal show the new or old firmware on the drive?
dantem
It shows the new one but randomly fails when I run the tests, This could potentially be a connector problem. I have them in a dell m6400 and the failing drive is on the secondary slot which uses an adapter for the connection. I'm testing that now.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 16, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 16, 2010 If the firmware is updated I would try and use Parted Magic to secure erase the drive and see if that will solve the issue.
