TW3X4G1333C9 voltage and version query?

Hi,

I built my system some time ago using Asus P5Q3 mobo and TW3X4G1333C9 matched set of ram on vista 64bit. I recently decided to up the ram to 8gb, found a nicely priced TW3X4G1333C9 pair and it arrived today. I've installed it and it works absolutely fine.

My query is why does the original pair of ram have different voltage and version numbers? will this cause an issue or in affect not run to its full 8gb potential?

If you have a look at the attatchment you'll see each of the 4 sticks in CPU-Z are all running @ 1.5v but have different timings, max bandwidths and speeds?

Original pair : 1.6v (printed on ram)

New Pair : 1.5 (printed on ram)

CPU-Z is showing the SPD profile and that is why it shows 1.5v for all of the modules. Sometimes the modules ICs can change which is why they are rated at two different voltages. I would recommend you set the voltage for 1.6v in the bios. It should not cause any issues.

ok, so changing the ram voltage in the bios keeps the SPD profile data exactly the same as the pic above.

So i've taking a screenshot of the memory tab in CPU-Z as i'm guessing this is dynamic and what i should be using as reference. As you can see changing the bios ram voltage setting from AUTO to 1.60v had no impact?
