Yellowbeard
Our friend Vince Lucido, aka K|ingp|n over at K|ngp|n cooling has just launced a new product for using LN2 or DICE to cool memory. These coolers are specifically made to fit Dominator DHX+ and Dominator GT DHX+ memory kits of 3 modules. The hole patterns also support 2 module kits on both Intel dual channel boards and AMD AM3 boards. As part of his launch, we have provided a 3 module kit of the GTX2 memory modules for Vince to give away to the contest winner: DOMINATOR GTX2 Here's the link and Vince's announcement. Feel free to enter and compete for these great prizes! CONTEST LINK To help me launch the first of some new liquid nitrogen and dry ice memory cooler designs I'm working on, my friends over at CORSAIR have put up a BRAND NEW triple channel set of GTX2 2250 DOMINATOR DDR3 to go along with one of my memory coolers for top prize. Top four runners up get memory cooler kits. Contest is simple, top five lowest superpi 32m times win. It starts today and runs until March 9th 2010 midnight eastern standard time. Only restriction is NO GULFTOWN or WESTMERE CPU's, everything else goes.. Screenshot must be submitted to this thread before the contest deadline, and have the following: Finished run with CPUZ 1.53 windows for cpu, memory speed, AND motherboard and must use the supplied background for this contest linked at the bottom of this page. bob808
I need 6 red ones but are not in stock.... $25 for 3 seems a little steep but.... Will these fit under the corsair fan that comes with the dominator gt sticks?
Yellowbeard
No, they won't fit under the regular fan. We have a fan with extended brackets available thru the store.
bob808
Hey Yellowbeard- what are the chances of just getting a couple extender legs for the airflow fan? I already have 2 of these (one extra) and dont want to buy he whole assembly if I dont have to. Looks like i need 6 red heatsinks, and 2 extender legs. bah- upon thinking about it, while I'm sure these heatsinks perform better than he ones that came with my sticks, if I do get them, I wouldn't hide them under the fan, I woud leave them exposed so I could admire their beauty :) Edit: Just noticed that if you buy the fins, they come with extender legs for the fan. :) Just an FYI
bob808
Hoping these (red ones) will come 'in stock' soon as I want 6 :)
pstephenson
Ok, so they don't run at 2250mhz but you get the idea... The extended fins are hot (or should I say, cool)

Blister
im confused... i have a promei (not currently being used) and am wondering why the memory modules don't condensate with moisture with all that cold on top of it. surely the cold would migrate down , wouldn't it ? thank you
Yellowbeard
They certainly do gather condensation and it freezes into ice if you use LN2 or DICE for any time at all. However, with proper insulation techniques this is manageable. Extreme cooling users accept this as part of using LN2 or DICE.
