Storm Petrel
Dear RAMGUY: I owned 4 sticks of CMX1024-3200C2PT for several years, until last month one of them died so I had to RMA a pair of them. Problem was Corsair does not carry this model anymore, so I received a pair of CMC2GX1M2A400C3 instead. I just got them today but they are not compatible with 2 sticks of CMX1024-3200C2PT that are still in my computer! Computer will not POST properly with these 2 pairs mixed, even with default BIOS settings. Memtest did not show errors in the 2 pairs. So I'm wondering if I can RMA the remaining CMX1024-3200C2PT sticks, and get two CMC2GX1M2A400C3 instead, so I can have my 4GB back. Thank you very much. Synthohol
thats one of the problem with mixing kits, if the orig kit was 4 sticks in one package, you would have RMA'd all 4 to get a matching kit back. this is why mixing kits is not supported or suggested. even if you get another pair the same version there are no guarantees they will play nice together at DDR400 anyway. sorry for your troubles.
