raaaaaa
I tried to upgrade my p5w dh deluxe motherboard from a e6600 to a q9550 cpu. the problem is that it can not handle 4 sticks of CM2X1024-6400 1GB each. on inserting the 4th stick system hangs. I take the last stick out and it is able to post. I moved the sticks around to see if it was a particular stick causing the problem but same problem. even when when I had this system running fine with the E66600 the memory always ran at pc5300 instead of 6400. I think the voltage is to low? can someone help me to get that 4th stick running. P.S. with 1GB or 2,3, or 4 the I get a bluscreen when booting to win &
Yellowbeard
Try raising your memory controller voltage to the 1.3v - 1.4v range.
raaaaaa
Try raising your memory controller voltage to the 1.3v - 1.4v range. thanks that seems to work I can post and when it comes up I have all 4GB showing up. is there a reason why it says PC5300 instead of 6400? also here is the BSOD http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v41/raaaaaa/Capture-2.jpg
Yellowbeard
What do you mean "it"? Where are you seeing 5300? Also, post screen shots of CPU-Z ver 1.53 showing the MEMORY tab and the SPD tab.
raaaaaa
ok after some poking around the bios I figured out that my bluescreen was because I had to disable ACHI support in BIOS. and boom it booted up. looks like most of my problems are fixed except that my memory runs at PC5300 instead of PC6400... anybody?
