can't load CM2X1024-6400 AND Q9550 CPU

Recommended Posts

I tried to upgrade my p5w dh deluxe motherboard from a e6600 to a q9550 cpu.

the problem is that it can not handle 4 sticks of CM2X1024-6400 1GB each.

on inserting the 4th stick system hangs. I take the last stick out and it is able to post.

I moved the sticks around to see if it was a particular stick causing the problem but same problem.

even when when I had this system running fine with the E66600 the memory always ran at pc5300 instead of 6400.

I think the voltage is to low?

can someone help me to get that 4th stick running.

P.S. with 1GB or 2,3, or 4 the I get a bluscreen when booting to win &

Try raising your memory controller voltage to the 1.3v - 1.4v range.

thanks that seems to work I can post and when it comes up I have all 4GB showing up.

is there a reason why it says PC5300 instead of 6400?

also here is the BSOD

ok after some poking around the bios I figured out that my bluescreen was because I had to disable ACHI support in BIOS.

and boom it booted up.

looks like most of my problems are fixed except that my memory runs at PC5300 instead of PC6400...
