Telo
Hi, I know that the memory config applet recommended the DominatorGT DDR3-1600 modules for my build, but I would rather get the DDR3-2000 modules instead and not have to overclock a DDR3-1600 to 2000Mhz. So my question is this, is it safe to assume that since the 1600 version is recommended, that the 2000 version would work as well? This motherboard is able to run stable at 450FSB with a set of 2GB CellShock DDR3 Micron D9JN PC3-15000, and a C2D E8500 @ 4275Mhz. I would like to up the RAM to 4GB and I was thinking the new DDR3s with the 1.65v had a better shot of doing so. I also want to try and break a stable 500FSB with the new E8600 I just got. Thanks in advance for your help.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 29, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 29, 2010 The 2000MHz kit is designed for the Core i7/Core i5 processors and may not run at 2000MHz on your X48 motherboard. The memory should work however it might not reach 2000MHz due to the memory controller in the X48 Chipset.
