Ken429
I have an H50 installed and love it. Looking to buy another. What is the difference between the H50 (copper) and the H50-1 (copper and aluminum). Which is better? Hard to tell from the price because depending on the day and the vendor one is cheaper than the other.
MJinZ
Different retention brackets, no other differences.
Ken429
One more time! What is the difference? Amazon wants $15 more for the H50 versus the H50-1 and says the shipping weight for the H50 is 4 pounds and the shipping weight for the H50-1 is 3 pounds?! bobcb
He told you what the difference was, the Amazon description is clearly wrong. The contents are identical except for the retention bracket.
SeanG
The H50 weights more than H50-1 because the H50 backplates and retention clamps are made of thick heavy plastic and big chrome screws and springs and the H50-1 are made of thin light steel. The H50-1 also comes with the AMD brackets and the 1156 brackets, which the H50 doesnt have. The H50 would of been even heavier if it included the amd mount and backplate because the amd heavy steel backplate weights about a pound by itself. Ken429
Still a little confused. I have the H50 or at least that is what I thought I bought and it has all the stuff to mount the Intel 775/1156/1366 and both versions of the AMD AM2/AM3. Based on the ZipZoomFly technical descriptions it would seem the H50 base is Copper and the H50-1 base is Copper and Aluminum? SeanG
Theres no difference between them except the H50 does not include the 1156 or the AMD bracket nomatter what it says.Go ahead order it,I dare ya.
Yellowbeard
There is no difference in the actual cooling portion of the H50 package vs the H50-1 package. The ONLY difference is the improved mounting options. If you have 1156 included in the package, then you got a -1. My only guess at "aluminum" in the description is that they are stating that the radiator is made of aluminum.
Ken429
Ok. Thanks for the response(s). I'll go for H50-1 on the second one.
