Corsair P128 won't boot...cannot access drive

I turn on my PC today and I was greeted by this error (see image)

I tried to fix the error with a repair installation with the Windows 7 setup disc but then I got these errors below. :(:

The SSD appears in the BIOS, and when I connected as a second drive it appears in Windows but I cannot access the SSD drive. It says " Drive is not accessible. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable" :!:

What should I do?

Do you have the Data on the drive backed up? Or an image of the drive as it was before that happened?

If not then I am sorry you may not get it back I would try and wipe the drive using Parted Magic and see if it will erase it then reinstall/image the drive back.

When I saw that I knew everything was gone.

I have been running the erase from Parted Magic for a couple of hours. How long does it takes? There will be a message when it's done?

Why would something like this just happened... out of the blue? :(:

Thanks for your reply.

A: It will give you a message and when the message goes away its done it normally only takes a few min at most.

Why would something like this just happened... out of the blue?

A: Its hard to say, could be several things to a hardware failure on the drive or MB or a Virus can also cause that.

I used Parted Magic to erase the drive, then reinstall Windows 7 and all software from scratch.

I tested the drive with atto & crystaldiskinfo before and after installing OS.

Atto shows the drive running to specs on read and close to specs on write.

Crystaldiskinfo shows the drive as 98% good.

Should I be concerned about that?

Could that be the cause of my drive corruption?

Thanks RAM GUY for your support.

Update 01/29/10:

I had contacted Corsair about the issue a week ago, they just replied providing a RMA.

I cannot reply to the email from Corsair.

After you read this post.....Do I need to RMA the drive?

Is the Crystaldiskinfo showing the drive as 98% good accurate?

You post was on Saturday and why it was not answered.

How does it perform in ATTO and please post screen shots?

Just for future reference, if anyone searches and finds this thread because they have the same problem, there is a way to at least get your data off the drive before you wipe it.

Use Acronis and its boot CD to boot to and create an image of the failed partition. This should complete successfully unless the file system is extremely corrupt. When you've got the image, saved to another drive, go ahead and wipe the SSD. When Windows is back up and running you can use the Acronis Windows program to browse the image as if it were a HDD and hopefully copy your data across.

Keeping with the topic, that ATTO shot looks pretty good to me, looks like you have done a good job.

I did created an image of the drive with Acronis while is was working. I decided not to use the image and to start from scratch to rule out any issues.

Since the drive looks fine for now, is there any way to cancel the RMA?

Thanks for you reply Psycho101 and RAM GUY
