Nivek
Hi, I'm new to over clocking as I was expecting this to work automatically. I have the GA-EX58-EXTREME with the CMG6GX3M3A2000C8 3x2gig ram kit but I am unable to get it to the 2000mhz correctly. Each time I have got it to these the machine crashes. - I'm probally doing this wrong so if there is a guide to doing this it would be a great help. I found this thread on the forums that someone else is having the same issue but I don't read German! http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=82297 Thanks
Dunlin1
Try setting CPU VTT Voltage to +350, I was told CPU VTT had to be between 1.52 and 1.6 and I set DIMM Voltage to 1.7, I'm not sure if this is your problem since you didn't post your bios settings. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 23, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 23, 2010 What stepping is your CPU (D0 or C0)? And have you tried the modules one at a time to see if you can isolate one of the modules causing that? I would try setting the memory frequency manually to DDR1866 and see if its more stable if they all pass one up. It may be the CPU you have just does not like to be over clocked that much. Nivek
Hi, the processor is Intel Corei7 920 D0 Step SLBEJ, rather annoyingly I have a Coolermaster V10 heatsink on which also covers my RAM. I will try settings you gave. Would running memtest bring up any errors that might be causing this?
