Mike22
Hello, I recently installed an H50 cooler using the stock thermal paste on an i7 computer. Becouse of the size of the thermal paste pad on the water block I ended up with some of it on the cpu socket itself around the edges of the CPU. The computer seems to be staying steady at 30C. Could the thermal paste on the sides of the CPU cause issues down the road or is this a typical install? Sorry if this is a dumb question just not used to seeing so much thermal paste. Yellowbeard
It should not be a problem. If you want to remove it, a Qtip and some alchohol or some electrical cleaner will do the job.
Mike22
Awsome thanks for the reply. I guess I will just leave well enough alone for now since everything is running fine but if I run into any temp problems I will try and remove some of the excess paste. Thanks again.
