reficul
I am putting together a new computer and will have it fired up by next week. MB - Asus M4A79-T Deluxe Graphics - Asus Ati Radeon HD5870 Cpu - AMD Phenom II X4 965 (125W) Memory - I bought from newegg CORSAIR DOMINATOR-GT 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMG4GX3M2A1600C7 I just wanted to make sure this memory will be fine here. I would also like to know what bios settings should I change to make this work the best in this system? I am open to all suggestions. Thanks for your time corsair.. Yellowbeard
That memory will work but it's possible that you cannot get it to run 1600. The kit you have is tuned for Intel platforms. The memory you need is on THIS PAGE.
reficul
Well, i already paid $200 for that memory, will it make that much of a difference to buy another set, or is there a way for me to tune that memory for just as much performance? I heard that the the processor is still young and that this ram may work better over time. I am aiming at the best performance, if i have to i will buy diff ram. If it was simple BIOS tuning, we would not have needed to make different kits for AMD and Intel. I am aiming at the best performance, if i have to i will buy diff ram. If you want BEST performance, return it and get the "B" version which is listed on that AMD Phenom page I linked for you.
