rdalcanto
I just built a system with the ASUS M4A785T-M motherboard, AMD Phenom II 955 processor, using the Corsair 400CX. The ASUS motherboard has an anti-surge protection feature. The default setting in BIOS in "enabled." The motherboard will not let the computer get past the initial post because of an unstable power supply. If I disable the feature, the computer seems to run great, but I'm worried that the voltage from the power supply is not good enough and damage will result. Sandra has the +12V DC supply at 12.42V, and the -12V DC at -8.99. Did I get unlucky and receive a bad power supply?
Wired
Software RARELY reads voltages correctly. Check them in the BIOS, or if you can, with a multimeter.
rdalcanto
How do I check the voltage. If I turn the computer off, and pull the plugs out, I can't get the PS to restart to check voltages....
rdalcanto
Update. I returned the Corsair power supply and got a different brand. I no longer get the error message.
