H50 Modded

Please post your guide and the pictures in this thread. We'll need to remind everyone that this sort of modding will void the warranty. However, information like yours is very interesting to read about and see documentation of. There are lots of creative people out there and we enjoy seeing their work. ::pirate::

Ok, will post my little guide.

We're working on a build log area for projects just like this. For the time being by all means please post your stuff.

Ok, sounds like a good idea, seems like your running a good, useful forum!

Tubing:

I chose cheap PVC from our local hardware store. Its 8mm ID and 10mm OD.

I got this size because it was the only one availible. I would be best to use 6mm ID and 8MM OD sized tubing.

So i started by taking the unit completely apart, mainly beacause i wanted to see what makes it tick.

To remove the Outside cover (the cover over the pump unit with Corsair written on it) You only need to remove these two screws: http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/3711/baseoo.jpg http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/baseoo.jpg/1/w1280.png

Then you want to unscrew a small screw to allow the pipes to come out of the pump unit, it looks like this: http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/7978/p10703061600x1200.jpg http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/p10703061600x1200.jpg/1/w1600.png

The pipes will come out with a gentle pull. Drain all of the fluid from the unit and Radiator.

Cut the old tubes off at the start of the barbs of the radiator and the little removable barbs. Once you have done that, you want to cut the bits off the barbs by cutting down the side of them with your knife. Once cut off they should look like this: http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/6695/p10703071600x1200.jpg http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/p10703071600x1200.jpg/1/w1600.png

You then need to put the new tubing on. I used the same legth tubing as thr H50 has standard, youmight want to use less or more depending on were you want to mount your H50.

You want to slide the tubing over the barbs and secure them with 2 cable ties. Like this: http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/3648/p10703081600x1200.jpg http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/p10703081600x1200.jpg/1/w1600.png

Do three, leaving the third off. You want to leave that one off the radiator as its the easiest place to fill the H50, i found.

Yill the h50 and put the pipe over the barb, it should stay on well enough to move it and plug in the pump. You want to have the pump on the floor and have the radiator above it so the air goes into the radiator. Once most off the air is out of the pump unit you wan to add some more water if needed until you cant get anymore air out. secure the last one with 2 cable tie's.

you want to run the H50 for 3 or 4 hours out side your system to ensure you have no leaks.

Remount.
