H50-1 screw specifications

Hi,

I read that in the FAQ that the scres are : 6 x 32 x 1 1/4"

however can someone please tell me what the numbers mean? I'm from the uk and those numbers don't really mean anything. I'm assuming that those are mm measurements? In which case that means the screws are 32mm long which is about right, the thread is 1.25mm spacing but the screws are definately not 6mm diameter! thats what confusing me so i guess the american units are different from the uk. Could some please clarify what they are?

Thanks

Quyeno

Hi,

Did anyone come up with the European metric equivalent of the American 32TPI imperial threaded screws. If so can they or maybe even a Corsair employee post the information so I can buy the appropriate ones?

Thanks

yes, just a few posts above your own:

after some thorough googling I think I've worked out the european equivalent sizing: M3.5 x 06 x 32mm (diameter mm x thread spacing x length).

sorry guys, very slight typo, it is: M3.5 x 0.6x 32 :)

but if anyone find these in the UK please post back, i haven't found any so i think i'll be ordering mine from the US. seem a bit OTT tbh but needs must. unfortunately corsair customer services couldn't help.

well, now that i know its m3.5 (if ur wrong..... :D:)

in wikipedia there is a nice table and nice info. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_metric_screw_thread

M3.5 all have a 0.6mm pitch (cause of the ISO), the only difference will be in length.

so this is how i find things to buy... type it into google search, then click shopping.

http://www.google.co.uk/products?hl=en&source=hp&q=M3.5&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wf

top of the list is b&q with a 35mm long screw.

all i gota do is buy that, and maybe file it down to the correct length or use lots of washers :p:

although to be fair i want longer screws so i can fit 38mm fans to it, so im looking for a 42 mm screw i guess.

anyway, it looks like b&q are close, buy a file and ur sorted, touch wood.

http://www.screwfix.com should be a good place too

Around june, in the company i work we had to purchase a bunch of socket screws to replace old ones in one of the presses (very big screws), and we bought here:

http://www.nssocketscrews.com/

At the same time with some friends, i also purchased from them M3.5 x 90mm of socket caps head screws (washer + fan filter + top side of the case + anti-vibration for the fan + 38mm fan + nut + through the radiator + washer + cap nut).

Another place:

Yeah, i tried the M3.5, it didn't fit because of the thread/inch was slightly different. M3 is too thin. but good news, my gf's father got me the exact ones: 6-32x1 1/4! i think they are pan caps and are either slotted or philips.

  • 2 weeks later...

I just realized since I never used them, but the coolermaster storm sniper black case comes with extra screws to mount 120mm fans to replace the 230mm fans in case you want to and I think they are the same screws to mount a second fan to the H50.
