Dreana
Hi. I have one question. If I remove a heat spreaders from my TR3X6G1600C7D (or something else with heat spreaders), I'll lose warranty for it?
Wired
Yes as they're not removable... You can certainly unscrew the top of them as they're meant to be user removable, but that's only recommended if you're using one of the advanced cooling kits from the Corsair store to cool them. Dreana
Oh, yes, I want to remove only top of them, not all. And removing only tops too carries on to warranty loss?
Wired
No, as like I said that's user removable. It's MEANT to be removed. Why do you want to remove it though? CPU heatsink getting in the way or something? If so, keep in mind those fins are there to help cool the memory.
Dreana
I have a discussion with reseller, which speaks that I will lose a warranty if I will remove heat spreaders. Reseller also put stickers with bar code on memory modules, which interfere with removal of spreaders (sorry for my English) - I can take photo and put it there. I try to prove to the seller that it is wrong and I need сonfirmation from an official forum. In general, I do not intend to remove cooling from my memory modules. Wired
Your wording needs to be clarified. If you only ask about removing the heat spreaders, most assume you mean the ones on the side which are bonded on. The one on the top clearly can come off because they have screws. Dreana
Only tops, which have screws. And yes, heatsinks will conflict with my CPU cooler and maybe I'll remove them in future (if I want to install the second fan to my IFX-14). Great thx for help (and for the link to a similar question)!
