RAM GUY I need your Uber Pro Help!

Memory: CMG6GX3M3A2000C8

Motherboard: ASUS Rampage II Extreme i7

BIOS: Latest Revision as of November 2009

Memory Specs:

Capacity 6GB (3 x 2GB)

Speed DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000)

Cas Latency 8

Timing 8-8-8-24-2T

Voltage 1.65V

Previously I was running: TR3X6G1866C9DF I upgraded my memory to CMG6GX3M3A2000C8. Prior to the upgrade I ran a 3DMark06 bench test and scored 22,448. Aftering installing the new memory and configuring to specs above I scored 22,099 with all other variables remaining constant. This memory (CMG6GX3M3A2000C8) is 133MHz faster running at lower timings. The performance should be around 10% better than the 1866MHz memory, but infact it's 1.5% worse. It's clear that either I need some help tweaking the memory settings or this memory is just no good.

Please review the below screen shots of my BIOS settings running the CMG6GX3M3A2000C8 memory. Let me know what settings should be used for optimal performance to obtain the desired performance increase that this memory should provide.

Ram Guy... Anyone.. I still need help :)

Your memory is set up correctly according to the XMP profile which are the optimum settings. Your test deviation is within the accepted margin of error for any benchmark.

Memory latencies have virtually no effect on 3DMark or any 3D application. If you want to compare the 2 settings, try something like Everest, SiSoft SANDRA, Super PI 32M, etc to measure and compare memory performance.
